For all non-cash charitable contributions (used clothing, etc. to Salvation Army or other charities) the information needed to complete your tax return has been expanded. We now need:
The date of the contribution, items donated and value, when you purchased them and your cost. Also required is the name and address of the donee organization. You will also need to have a receipt from the organization.
In the past this information was only required for non-cash donations of $500.00 or more.
