More Vehicles Qualify for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit

According to IRS, certain advanced lean-burn technology vehicles (these generally run on diesel fuel) are now eligible for a tax credit. As a result, the following vehicles now qualify:

  • 2009 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI Sedan (manual or automatic)–$1,300
  • 2009 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI SportWagen (manual or automatic)–$1,300
  • Mercedes Benz GL 230 Blue TEC–$1,800
  • Mercedes Benz R 230 Blue TEC–$1,550
  • Mercedes Benz ML 230 Blue TEC–$900
